Picture this: you’re barefoot; you have a cold beverage in your hand; you’re decked out in your new beachwear from Kitty Hawk Surf Co, and there are some beach jams playing in the background. What could be better? Your vacation won’t be complete without some local live music. We have you covered with the inside scoop on where to rock around town. So without further ado, here are our 5 favorite bands and live music venues you must see on the beach! Drum roll, please.
1. Roanoke Island Festival Park
A gorgeous waterfront music venue hosting all the reggae, rock, country, and bluegrass your heart desires. Check out their website for the remaining dates this summer!
2. Zack Mexico
A locally grown psychedelic indie rock band. This group is an Outer Banks staple. They have a huge local fan base and even tour the US. You can catch them at the Outer Banks Brewing Station on August 12th and 13th.
3. Roadside’s Backside Bar
A great live music spot in Duck that is sure not to disappoint. It’s a very kitschy spot tucked in town with great drinks and an even better music lineup.
4. Stereo In Words
A local garage indie rock band playing all original tunes reminiscent of 90’s college radio. Local independent magazine, Milepost, sums up their sound like this: “rippling guitar riffs and melodic structures, dynamic movements and tight changes, heartfelt lyrics illustrated with dimensional imagery.” Catch them on August 27th at Sundogs in Corolla, Sept 2nd at First Friday in Manteo, and September 7th at Jack Browns.
5. Tap Shack
This local watering hole with great food coming to you from Cravings, the attached restaurant, has a summer music lineup that appeals to all music lovers.
Live music is a great way to elevate your vacation to the next level. We will see you there, keep rockin!
