Beer, Wine, and music Announced for OBX Brewtäg on October 3
Nags Head, N.C. (September 22, 2015) – Kegs will fly on Saturday, October 3 (12pm-6pm) at the inaugural OBX Brewtäg, a celebration of flight and beer at The Soundside Event Site in Nags Head, North Carolina.
Witness another chapter of aviation history on the Outer Banks as competitors launch homemade flying contraptions off a 20-foot tall platform in an attempt to carry an 1/6 barrel keg the furthest. Admission to this family-friendly event is free to the general public and will also feature a craft beer garden, local food vendors, live musical performances, a Kids Zone and much more. All proceeds will benefit The Rogallo Foundation.
The Flight: It's not too late to compete at Brewtäg! The cost to enter a team is only $25 and the sky is the limit as to how creative your homemade flying contraption can be! There are a few rules and regulations to follow, but this day is all about flight, beer and fun!
The Food and Drink: This one-of-a-kind event will feature a crafty selection of beer for sale from local and regional favorites including: Outer Banks Brewing Station, Weeping Radish Farm Brewery, Lost Colony Brewery, Bold Rock Hard Cider, Natty Greene's Brewing Company, Oskar Blues Brewery, Mother Earth Brewing, Blue Mountain Brewery, and Sierra Nevada Brewing Company. In addition, Sanctuary Vineyards will be pouring some of their fine North Carolina wines. Mulligan's Raw Bar and Grille, OBX Sunset Slush and other local food providers will also be on hand to please the palate!
The Tunes: Kegs won't be the only things filling the air. An amazing lineup of live music will feature Look Homeward, a band of brackish brethren hailing from the Piedmont of North Carolina, whose American South style marries banjos, brass and honest folk songwriting. In addition, local Outer Banks favorites Frozen Head and the Squirrels will bring their energetic talents to the stage, combining surf rock, reggae, and indie covers derived from the past five decades.
The Kiddos: The Kids Zone will feature the kitty hawk kites portable rock wall, various arts and crafts stations, kite races, and more!
