The little town of Manteo took a beating during Hurricane Irene. Nearly the whole historic downtown area — including our store on Queen Elizabeth Street — was bombarded by four feet of water in the storm’s aftermath. That’s the bad news. The good news: we reopened our store at 9:00 this morning. So, take that, Irene.
From four feet of water to open for business! Now, that’s what we call teamwork. Way to go, Kitty Hawk Kites crew.
And September’s First Friday kicks off tonight. Come out and support the post-storm revival of the little town that could.
