Needless to say, things are busy around here. As the Outer Banks has reopened to visitors and states are lifting restrictions on retail businesses, we are starting to see some normalcy return as we approach summer. Currently, Hang Gliding lessons are running every day, kayaks and SUP rentals are flying off the racks, and bookings for the Miss Oregon Inlet Head Boat are rolling in. Our crew members are also hard at work cleaning and sanitizing our stores and equipment to keep you safe. But we’re not so busy that we’ve forgotten what Memorial Day is all about — the selfless sacrifices of those who’ve served. We honor their sacrifice and recognize that we’re able to do what we do because of all that they’ve done.
Succinctly, we remember. We remember the valiant men and women who have served our country. We remember those who gave our lives to protect our freedoms. We remember the brave service members, past and present, that dedicate their lives to this great cause. We remember to commemorate these heroes.
“A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself.”
Joseph Campbell
We couldn’t agree more. Happy Memorial Day, everybody! And don’t forget to remember.
