Kitty Hawk Kites x the Playmaker Project: Helping Uplift Kids in Need

On May 16th 2024, Life is Good Chief Creative Optimist John Jacobs visited the Outer Banks and presented for a crowd of more than 200 attendees! The highly successful clothing and lifestyle brand has had a longstanding partnership with Kitty Hawk Kites, and Jacobs’s speech was part of the celebration of KHK’s 50th anniversary! In the aftermath of this hugely successful event, Kitty Hawk Kites proudly announces a $3000 donation to the LIG non-profit, the Playmaker Project.

The Kitty Hawk Kites executive board presents John Jacobs and the Life is Good team with a $3000 donation to the Playmaker Project

This generous donation is part of Kitty Hawk Kites’ ongoing commitment to support organizations that make a positive impact in the world. The Life is Good Playmaker Project empowers childcare professionals with the resources and training needed to create safe, loving, and joyful environments for children who have experienced adversity.

“We are thrilled to support the Life is Good Playmaker Project,” said John Harris, CEO of Kitty Hawk Kites. “Their mission aligns perfectly with our values, and we are honored to contribute to a cause that helps children in need thrive. At Kitty Hawk Kites, we believe in the importance of fostering positive experiences for children and everyone. It is truly the least we could do after having John Jacobs and his brilliant team share their optimistic outlook with our community.”

The $3,000 donation will go towards training Playmakers—caregivers, teachers, and other professionals—who work directly with children affected by trauma. This training equips Playmakers with practical tools to help children heal and grow, ensuring they have the opportunity to enjoy their childhood and reach their full potential.

On Life is Good’s continued partnership with Kitty Hawk Kites and the company’s support in the Playmaker Project, Jacobs added, “We are grateful for this very special long-term partnership with Kitty Hawk Kites, and for what the company does every day to help spread the power of Optimism in a world that needs it more than ever.”

The Playmaker Project
