Hurricane Sandy Can't Knock Us Down

As many of you know, the of and many other cities along the east coast of the United States has been knocked around by Hurricane Sandy the past few days. The damage and out from the storm are still being discovered but one thing is certain, the Outer Banks will carry on.

It was just a little over a year ago that we were cleaning up from Hurricane Irene. A new inlet was torn and houses, piers and businesses were washed out by the flooding and winds she brought with her. Now as Sandy has passed, many of those same areas are faced with the same set backs as before. Thankfully, the residents and businesses of the Outer Banks are resilient and strong.

Nothing will ever take away the beauty of the Outer Banks. Most of our stores will be open today and a few will be cleaning up the mess Hurricane Sandy made, but our hearts are with all of our friends, fans, neighbors and customers on the east coast who are still facing her wrath. We hope to see you next year and many years to come. We're in this together.

We were there last year the week after Irene–I was amazed at how quickly the businesses bounced back! Stay safe during your clean up efforts. We are looking forward to coming back next year!
