July 4th Events in the OBX!

Historic Corolla Park

5:00–9:00 PM, July 4th

Celebrate with family-friendly activities, live music, food vendors, and a vibrant fireworks display at dusk!

Duck Town Parade and Celebration

Parade begins at 10:00 AM, July 4th

Grab your patriotic attire, bring the kids, and enjoy the Duck parade. Post-parade, the day continues with live music and local awards ceremonies!

Manteo – Island Farm & Festival Park

Museum Hours: 10:00 AM–4:00 PM on July 4th
Fireworks: 9:30 PM

Step back to colonial times with musket firings, period games, and a reading of the Declaration of Independence. In the evening, enjoy live music at Festival Park followed by a fireworks display over Roanoke Sound!

Avalon Pier Fireworks

Approximately 9:15 PM on July 4

Enjoy a fireworks show launched over the pier. Arrive early to secure a beach-side viewing spot!

Nags Head Fishing Pier Fireworks

Approximately 9:30 PM on July 4th

Enjoy an illuminated sky from the pier’s vantage point. A perfect waterfront vantage point for this spectacular show.

Avon Pier and Beach Klub Fireworks

Approximately 9:15 PM on July 4th

Celebrate with fireworks and a festive gathering at Beach Klub. Bring family and enjoy the fireworks from the pier or beach!

Ocracoke Festival & Fireworks

July 1–4

This multi-day event includes a flag ceremony, sand-sculpting contest, parade, live music, lighthouse tours, and a vintage car show. The weekend culminates with a fireworks display on the 4th!

Kill Devil Beer Run

June 29, 11:00 AM

A 5K run followed by a craft beer festival, conveniently timed to begin the holiday weekend.

 

Planning Tips for a Smooth Holiday

  1. Reserve early: Water-sports sessions and cruises are in high demand during the July 4 weekend.
  2. Arrive early on the beach: Prime viewing spots fill up fast, plan to arrive at least 45 minutes before showtime.
  3. Pack early-evening essentials: Bring foldable chairs, picnic blankets, and light jackets to stay comfortable.
  4. Respect local guidelines: Dare County prohibits personal fireworks. Also, note that pets must remain leashed in public parks!
  5. Drive Safely: Call an uber or text a friend if you’re under the influence!
