Let's recap this past weekend and look ahead to our upcoming events at kitty hawk kites.

Last weekend we hosted the 40th Annual Rogallo Kite Festival and it was possibly our best one yet! Kite flyers came in from NJ, VA, DC, MD, and NC. And our sponsors: Premier Kites, hq kites, Twiddy, Seaside Vacations, and Mulligans all contributed to a great weekend of flying. We had a spectacular display of large show kites all three days. The giant Koi fish are always a hit with the crowd, and we love the pictures people share! Additionally, we had fantastic quad line kite demos this year. The routines were set to music! It was very impressive and mesmerizing to watch the precision that went into each move! Then our very own Billy Vaughn from the hang gliding school came out to the hill each day to talk about francis rogallo and the history behind kiting and hang gliding. Every day drew a crowd better than the day before! We could not be more grateful for the turnout.

But that's not the only event from the weekend with Kitty Hawk Kites. We also had some hustle and bustle a little further south!

This past Saturday down on Hatteras Island, we had a kiteboarding gear demo, cookout, and downwinder event at our Waves Village Watersports location. Shaun Bennett with Mystic came out to show off the newest gear we carry and get some time in the water. From harnesses to gear bags to helmets, Mystic has our store stocked with what you need! Come shop our inventory and see what the hype was all about from this past weekend. We are still dreaming of the food from the cookout! Lots of good times were had by all and we cannot wait to see everyone again for our next event.

While we are on the topic of watersports, did you make it to meet all-time team angler Quentin Turko at our Whalebone Kitty Hawk Kites location this past Friday? We had a great turnout for our Hobie Demo with Quentin. First, he talked about how he catches some of the biggest drum we see in the outer banks. Then, we got to check out his personalized Hobie Kayak setup and catch a glimpse into what gear he uses every time he hits the water. There is always something happening at Kitty Hawk Kites. We are looking forward to our next kite festival, The 44th Annual Wright Kite Festival on July 16-17th. On July 1st we have a Winging clinic with Cabrinha Kites at our Kiteboarding School in Rodanthe. Additionally, we host Kids Days, Sunset Festival, and Waterfront Festival daily every week until August 19th! Keep an eye on our social media channels and website for updates on what's happening.
