Kitty Hawk Kites Donates $3,601 to Wright Flight of North Carolina

Kitty Hawk Kites was thrilled to present a check for $3,601,64 to last week! The money was raised at the 5th Annual Kitty Hawk Kites Watermelon Festival at Jockey’s Ridge Crossing Shopping Center on August 11, 2011, as well as through event t-shirt sales, which ended late this fall.

Wright Flight of North Carolina is a nonprofit that rewards 5th graders who achieve academic goals with flight. The foundation has helped improve performance in local school districts nad has given students opportunities to experience hang gliding, tandem hang gliding, and airplane rides. Currently, 140 students are enrolled in the program at First Flight and Elementary Schools.

Thanks to the Outer Banks community and our loyal customers for helping us support this worthy cause!

(WARNING: This post is most suitable for boys, men, and other immature people.)

Okay, so we like bacon. What’s the big deal?

Hey, at least it’s not bacon-oriented! Notice they’re made specifically for Kites. How cool is that?
